Other Rescue/Sanctuary organizations listed as links are those having a USDA license which hopefully ensures that at least some health and sanitation standards are being monitored. This does not constitute an endorsement nor a condemnation by our organization.

Blue Ridge Outdoor Adventures offers caving, camping, rafting and fun. Their Loafers Glory Campin’ and Fishin’ Grounds are about eight miles from The Sanctum, Inc. Rafting trips start at Loafers Glory.

 

Mitchell Co. Chamber of Commerce

Mitchell County is located approximately an hour from Asheville, NC, an hour from Boone, NC. Banner Elk is within 45 minutes. Boone is famous for its’ ski slopes, Banner Elk is elegant with wonderful craft shops, and Asheville is a most delightful and interesting city! We are also close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, just around the corner from Little Switzerland, and many other scenic areas. Bakersville is down the mountain from Roan Mountain, and near Mount Mitchell. Mitchell County also hosts one of the nations largest gem and mineral show every summer! If you are crystal collector, this is the place to be!
